Our strategy is not about convincing voters which candidate to vote for. There are hundreds of millions of dollars already in Harris Campaign and Democratic National Committee (DNC) coffers allocated to advertising and campaigning. Our strategy is to ensure Democratic voters in North Carolina make it to the polls to cast their ballots.

North Carolina voting is all in-person. There is no mail-in voting, except for absentee voters. For many Democratic voters, getting to the polls and casting their vote requires substantial time and effort. The more a low-probability voter is encouraged to vote, the more likely they will make the effort.

Get-out-the-vote efforts are the domain of county-level Democratic organizations, which have very limited access to DNC and Harris campaign funding. RedStatesBlue is all about raising funds to drive county-level efforts.

We plan to fund hiring 10 paid student organizers to register University of North Carolina students to vote. In addition, we will provide data services to improve the accuracy of NC counties' prospective voter lists. Finally, we hope to fund infrastructure for get-out-the-vote efforts in many of the under-organized Democratic Party committees in rural NC counties.

Reaching out to Democratic voters who are at risk of not voting, we are using publicly available voting record data, along with propensity-to-vote data.

We hope to fund college campus get-out-the-vote efforts organized by Democrats in Orange County, North Carolina, where the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill is located. College-age voters had about 20% turnout in NC in 2020, but on-campus get-out-the-vote efforts were sparse in that election. Given Trump only won NC by 75,000 votes, Orange County Democrats are highly motivated to organize on campuses, but they need funds to be effective.
